From The Spring League to NFL starter, Delaware native David Grinnage finally lives his NFL dream – USA Today

Grinnage decided to give his dream of making an NFL roster one more shot by playing in The Spring League in 2017. It’s a development league and scouting event for professional football hopefuls. There are four teams playing two games each, all in the same location. That year, it was in Napa Valley, California.

Grinnage said in the two games he played in, his team had four tight ends, and they were limited to one quarter each so all of them could be seen by NFL scouts.

The Jaguars were impressed enough to invite Grinnage to training camp in the summer of 2017. They released him, then signed him to the practice squad. They released him, then signed him to the practice squad. The same thing happened this season, until Grinnage was promoted to the 53-man roster on Oct. 9, five days before the Jaguars’ game against the Dallas Cowboys.”
