Alex Scearce

From Huntersville, North Carolina, Scearce was named 1A All-State by after showing his versatility and athleticism on both sides of the ball.  He would commit to Coastal Carolina University to play college ball.

Scearce had a marvelous career for the Chanticleers, and ranks prominently in the schools record books: 1st in Interception returns for TDs, 2nd in Fumble returns for TDs, 7th in Yards from Sacks, 7th in Fumbles Forced, 9th in Unassisted Tackles, 9th in QB Sacks, 10th in Total Tackles, 10th in Interceptions, 11th in Yards from TFLs, 11th in Fumbles recovered, 11th in Passes Defended, 13th in Tackles for Loss, and 14th in Assisted Tackles.

Scearce was a 2016 Buck Buchanan National Defensive Player of the Year Finalist, a 2016 All-American, 1st Team Associated Press and 2nd team STATS FCS. In addition, he was a team captain, CCU’s Defensive Player of the Year, Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and 1st Team All-Conference.

The 6’3″, 220 lbs LB went undrafted, but was picked up by the Chicago Bears, where he went on to play for their preseason roster. In 2018, Scearce will join The Spring League to proves he belongs back on football’s greatest stage.
