Ridge Wilson

From Louisville, Kentucky, Wilson was picked as a 1st-team All-State linebacker and a McDonald’s All-American nominee. He was ranked the #8 prospect in Kentucky by Rivals.com and SuperPrep. Wilson also excelled in the classroom as an  Honor-roll student and a member of the “100 Black Men” honorary organization. Wilson committed to the University of Kentucky.

Wilson would have been Kentucky’s 2nd-leading returning tackler, but an unfortunate personal circumstance led to Wilson being dismissed from the team. Wilson wound up at the University of West Alabama, where he anchored the defense and got his life back on the right track.

At West Alabama, Wilson won Gulf South Conference defensive player of the year and was an All-GSC 1st-team selection and an All-Super Region 2 selection. Wilson participated in a Pro Day, clocking a 4.80 40-yard dash, 29.5 inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 broad jump, a short shuttle time of 4.40 seconds and 25 lifts of 225 lbs on the bench press.

The 6’3″, 246 lbs LB went undrafted, but was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs as an outside linebacker/defensive end.

At just 25 years old, Wilson participated in The Spring League’s inaugural season to showcase his skills in front of NFL scouts.
